For countless eons there have been myths of Valhalla, land of the fallen Viking heroes. Recently, a band of adventurers have returned from the plains north of New Thalos with stories of shadowy Viking warriors and malicious Norse Gods. Across a mystical rainbow bridge, they brought tales of horror and death!
Though the rumors cannot be confirmed, most speak of a mighty hammer with magical qualities and the agony of those attempting to gain it. Since these rumors began, Sheik Bismallah ibn Ra Kihr (Sultan of New Thalos) has sent two expeditions to find the fabled realm. None have returned...
Only players under level 26 may enter Valhalla.
General Zone Strategy:
This is a level cap zone, permitting only those PCs under level 27 to enter.
Find Heimdal on the Bifrost and get his gleaming golden horn. You'll need the horn to enter Ydal later. Watch for Loki (hidden) who will assist Heimdal. The valkyries will assist anyone in melee with neutral or lower alignment. This means that when you are fighting the einheriar (ghost soldiers) they may attack one another.
The raven's feather, carried by one (or both) of the bird statues in the Hall of Statues, is a nice 3xpfg wand. The wolves' bracelets are good mid-level +dam wrist gear.
Proceed to Vidar, at the gate of Ydal. Obtain his boot for entrance to Valhalla. Once inside the building, unlock south with your gleaming horn key.
Find Bragi and obtain his dismemberd tongue. In the brewery, unlock the gate to Upper Valhalla (floor) and defeat the brewer Aegir to pass.
